Lauren grew up just outside Philly in Wallingford, PA, and is now based in NYC. She was raised in a musical household, picking up any instrument she could get her hands on. A multi-instrumentalist (violin, flute, piano, guitar, saw), Lauren has been able to combine her love for music and acting as an actor/musician. Some highlights so far have been touring the country with Once, the musical, and playing the Fiddler in the Off-Broadway Drama Desk Award-winning revival of Fiddler on the Roof (in Yiddish, directed by Oscar and Tony winner Joel Grey).
Lauren received her BFA in Acting from Boston University, and has a certificate in classical acting from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Lauren has performed on stages all over the US, and even in Ankara, Turkey, where she lived for two years. She loves traveling and learning about new cultures, and has worked a range of jobs from teaching yoga, singing with cover-bands, to teaching ESL and music. A passionate advocate of using theater to educate and build empathy in young people, Lauren founded her own theater-ed program, Breaking Barriers.
